General Conduct
Gameacon is a celebration of gaming, creativity, and pop culture—created for fans, by fans. Our primary goal is to ensure a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone. To achieve this, we have established the following rules and expectations for behavior throughout the event.
By attending, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. All ticket sales are final; no refunds or cancellations will be issued.
Gameacon welcomes attendees of all backgrounds, identities, and fandoms. However, event organizers reserve the right to deny or revoke access to any individual whose behavior interferes with the event’s atmosphere, safety, or operations. We may update these rules at any time without prior notice.

Costume & Props Policy
For the safety of all guests at The Shops at Palm Desert:

No real or simulated firearms are permitted.

Costume swords and props must be made of foam or lightweight materials and must be securely fastened to your costume to prevent them from being drawn.

All props must be inspected and approved by Gameacon staff at check-in.
Weapons Policy

Real weapons are strictly prohibited, regardless of concealed carry permits.

Prop weapons must be checked in with staff immediately upon arrival. Any prop deemed unsafe or too realistic may be turned away.

Gameacon staff reserves the right to inspect or remove any item that poses a threat to safety.

Off-duty peace officers may carry a firearm but must identify themselves and present proper ID upon request.
Family-Friendly Environment
Gameacon maintains an “E for Everyone” environment in all general areas. Activities or displays intended for mature audiences will be clearly labeled, and access may be restricted to attendees over 18 with valid ID.
Minors

Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

Gameacon cannot assume responsibility for the care, supervision, or actions of minors.
Sale of Merchandise
Only approved vendors may offer merchandise for sale, and only within designated areas. Selling goods outside of these areas—such as in common spaces or hotel rooms—is prohibited and may result in removal from the event.
Personal Conduct & Venue Guidelines

No smoking or vaping is allowed inside any event areas at The Shops at Palm Desert.

Attendees should be mindful of other mall patrons and maintain respectful volume levels.

Disorderly conduct (including fighting, harassment, or unauthorized access to restricted areas) may result in badge revocation and removal.
Harassment Policy
Gameacon is a harassment-free zone. Harassment of any kind—including but not limited to verbal abuse, stalking, unwanted advances, inappropriate photography, or physical intimidation—will not be tolerated.
If someone tells you “no” or asks to be left alone, you must comply. Violations may result in badge revocation without refund, removal from the premises, and/or banning from future events.
If you experience or witness harassment, report it immediately to Gameacon staff. We will take action. All reports are treated confidentially unless law requires disclosure.
Substance Policy

No illegal substances are permitted.

Alcohol must not be brought into any Gameacon event spaces.

Minors caught consuming or in possession of alcohol will be referred to authorities.

Those hosting private gatherings are responsible for ensuring no underage drinking occurs.
Recording & Media Use
By attending Gameacon, you grant permission to be photographed or recorded by staff and fellow attendees. These images may be used for promotional, archival, or commercial purposes. If you do not wish to be recorded, inform staff.

Personal photography and sharing on social media is encouraged.

Video/audio recording of panels, concerts, or other events requires approval.

Any recordings made at Gameacon fall under a non-commercial, creative commons license, unless otherwise approved by Gameacon.
Payments & Disputes

Gameacon accepts cash and card payments.

Chargebacks issued without first contacting us may result in loss of future attendance privileges.

Outstanding balances must be settled before attending.
Final Notes
All Gameacon attendees are expected to follow local, state, and federal laws while on-site. Our volunteer security team will be enforcing these standards.
Your badge remains the property of Gameacon during the event and must be presented upon request. Badge holders who violate this Code may be removed without refund.
