Shelly Shutters was always destined to become a cosplayer. With her bachelors degree in photography, a background in theatre and a love of painting and fine art, cosplay was the perfect next step. A wedding photographer for 15 years, she began her cosplay journey online in 2020 during COVID while living in Japan.
"What I love most about cosplay in general is artistic expression. I love seeing others cosplay as much as I love doing it myself. I also get so much joy from seeing people get excited about the same characters I love. It's the best feeling seeing people's eyes light up when they see my cosplay. To me cosplay is all about art and joy, making people feel something."
Shelly shutters • Cosplay
is a professional costume and prop maker with specialties in sewing, painting and weathering. She loves connecting with characters and bringing them to life through the building process of her cosplays and collaborating on her photoshoots. Her love for fantasy and sci-fi is echoed in her most notable cosplays such as Commander Shepard (Mass Effect), Scarlet Witch (Marvel), and her original take on Princess Jasmine (Disney), which pulls inspiration from LT's Coptic Egyptian heritage. A recipient of multiple awards for her craft, LT has been featured in numerous publications (such as the official pages of BioWare and Guerrilla Games), as well as at events such as Comic Con Revolution Ontario, Los Angeles Comic Con, and GameAcon West.
To date, she has also participated in numerous panels at over a dozen conventions.
LT volunteers with West Coast Avengers and Cosplay for Science, and also running the California chapter of the N7 Elite Costuming Club. She loves teaching and encouraging a variety of creative skills, especially as a way of personal expression. She believes cosplay is for everyone at any level.

Her dedication to the craft has been recognized by being published on the covers of Lady Death, Red Sonja and several other comic books. From comic books, movies, anime to video games, Sapphire loves all of nerd culture which is reflected in her numerous and varied cosplays. In her spare time, Sapphire loves nothing more than locking herself in her crafting room and tinkering away at a new costume.

Cloud is LarpLikeRae’s manager as a full time job; editing, scheduling, handler and cosplay partner. He enjoys video games, cooking and Lego’s.
